How was Calia Italia born?
Calia Italia founder Liborio Vincenzo Calia was allowed to join an artisan workshop when he was very young. There he learned carpentry by making various objects from wood. In 1944, when he was only 18 years old, he started his own business and in 1965 he began research into the design and production of a product designed to make people feel comfortable and healthy: Upholstered Furniture.
Calia Italia - Comfort for the Whole World
Based on Saverio Calia's studies and Giuseppe Calia's strategy, Calia Italia became one of the most renowned companies in the world in the production of "upholstered furniture". The efforts of over 150 people working in the Murgia region allowed Calia Italia to produce over 50 new models in a single day, over 1,000 seats in 40 different covers in leather and fabric, in over 400 colors. Calia Italia's products are manufactured in one of the largest automated warehouses in Europe, ready to be shipped to over 80 countries.

Finally, Calia Italia takes part in the 1985 Milan furniture fair. Subsequent investors begin to see success in the company's international core markets with models such as the "Magic" launched in 1984 and the "Transatlantic" produced in 1987 and adapted to meet the needs of the French market.
